WESTFIELD Fountain Gate was a hive of fashion fever last week as models showcased the hottest autumn/winter trends as part of the centre’s VIP fashion night.

Nautical stripes with a splash of red, outfits inspired by men’s wardrobes, lady-like lace and luxe fabrics and sweet pastel shades were some of latest styles shown in two fashion parades in centre court.

The crowd was also treated to a performance by stars from ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ - Henry Byalikov, Kat Risteski, Rhiannon Villerael and choreographer Adam Williams.

Models showcased the ‘man style’ look and displayed that masculine tailoring was not just for men.

Black blazer jacket, feminine blouse or shirt and scarf, teamed with leggings or man-style pants or slacks are the key items to achieve this look.

A French-inspired look is back bigger than ever this winter, with black, white or navy-striped tops a key item for any wardrobe. This look is completed with a splash of red and a black jacket with big, gold buttons. Sweet pastel shades are a new choice for winter.

Models paraded a variety blush and neutral shade dresses, tops or skirts hardened up with black or lace tights, blazer jackets and boots.

A staple item for any wardrobe this season is a black boot. The biggest trends are thigh-high boots or chunky ankle boot with studs, chains or buckles.

Complete any outfit with bold jewellery, scarf and a tough belt. For men, it’s all about layering for winter.

Leather jackets over hooded jumpers and jackets, trench coats over shirts and ties and knitted cardigans with a T-shirt and scarf were some of the key looks.

The trend for a more formal occasion was a classic black suit with pastel shirt and tie or dark grey suit with black shirt. Shoppers could get the looks themselves with all outfits compiled with clothing items from Westfield Fountain Gate retailers.

They were also treated to complimentary chocolate fountain, giveaways and mini beauty makeovers and treatments. The bi-annual fashion event ran from 6pm-10pm. International stylist Carson Kressley will be at Westfield Fountain Gate on Thursday 29 April from 6 to 7pm.
