FOOTSCRAY Police arrested two teenage girls last week over an aggravated burglary in Maidstone on Tuesday morning.

It is believed a 19-year-old girl from Maidstone and an 18-year-old girl from Werribee had been walking along Ballarat Rd when one of them entered a house through an open window just after midnight.

It’s alleged one of the girls stole a laptop, mobile phone and wallet before fleeing the house through the same window.

Five people at home at the time were alerted when they heard a noise at the front of the house.

Police arrested the girls a short time later and recovered the stolen property.

The two girls were remanded to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.
