FESTIVAL fever has well and truly hit the City of Maribyrnong.
The 17th annual Yarraville Arts Festival will descend upon Yarraville’s streets this Saturday, with more than 10,000 people expected to take part in the festivities.
This year’s program is packed with five stages of entertainment, poet readings, art stalls and market and craft stalls, plus a Kid’s Kingdom filled with rides and activities for the little ones. Meanwhile, Braybrook’s Quang Minh Temple will welcome the New Year this weekend with a Lunar New Year’s Eve Celebration including a lion and dragon dance, a VCE scholarship awards presentation and a blessing ceremony from monks.
And Footscray Community Arts Centre looks set to become the new permanent home of the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival after a successful sold-out showing at the end of January.
