A NEW choir is calling on singers in the City of Greater Dandenong to join their group.

Hymns and Hyrs began in late 2009 and has seven members from around the City of Greater Dandenong.

Member Jenny Cook said the choir had already made public appearances including singing at Doveton Carols by Candlelight in 2009.

Ms Cook said she hoped more people would join the choir, which planned on visiting nursing homes in the area to entertain residents and performing at future concerts.

“Basically we are an adult community choir and we need more members,” she said.

“Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join.”

The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7.30pm until 9.30pm at the Dandenong North Church Hall.

“There is no charge on the first night,” she said.

“We would love people to come along and have fun with a very friendly group.”
