HILLS shoppers can beat the yuletide rush this festive season with a spot of late night shopping in Olinda, Sassafras and Mount Dandenong.

Traders recently formed the Villages of Mount Dandenong to promote what is on offer in the towns.

Group spokeswoman Lisa Simpson said the group was funded by local businesses and aimed to reinvigorate interest in shopping on the mountain.

They are now organising a late night shopping experience for everyone to enjoy.

Locals will be able to find that perfect Christmas gift on Thursday 10 and 17 December with shops opening their doors until 8pm.

A range of shops are taking part in this great opportunity from the Sassafras Woolstore to Mount Dandenong Antiques.

There will also be plenty of bargains including 20 per cent off glassware and ceramics at Olinda’s Treasures of Istanbul.

Olinda Cellars is also offering its monthly mixed dozen special at basement prices, reduced from $200 to $120.

Those looking for a discount on the perfect yuletide getaway can do just that by taking up the chance to beat the Christmas rush.

Linden Gardens Rainforest Retreat is offering five per cent off Christmas gift vouchers on any of its packages. All shoppers need to do is present a receipt from any of the village shops.

Those wanting to cash in on the savings can also pick up a Christmas Special Offers Flyer from a variety of shops and restaurants from 1 December.

Those wanting to make a night of it can even enjoy a relaxing post shopping dinner at any of the restaurants or cafes in Olinda, Mount Dandenong or Sassafras.
