RESIDENTS at Berwick Brae Retirement Village are getting into the Christmas spirit for this weekend’s annual fete.

For the first time in around 25 years, the Berwick Brae Christmas Fete on Saturday 21 November will be open to the community.

The Berwick Brae Christmas Fete, organised by the village’s social and crafts clubs, will run from 10am to 2pm. Guests will be treated to a variety of stalls selling handmade birthday and Christmas cards, trash and treasure, Christmas decorations and gifts, fruit and vegetables and plants.A sausage sizzle and morning tea will also be available.

Manager Arlene Coutts said all of the proceeds from the event would go to local charities such as the CFA, Red Cross and SES, and Casey Hospital. Ms Coutts said the residents at the village were hoping to raise quite a bit of money on the day.

“Between 25 and 30 residents have put together the concept of the fete and will be running the whole day,” she said.

Berwick Brae Retirement Village is located at 670-690 Princes Highway in Berwick. For details about the Berwick Brae Christmas Fete, call 9707 1261.
