Dandenong MPJohn Pandazopoulos cuts the ribbon on Dandenong’s new Souvlakihut franchise, the 21st in the chain.

LOVERS of souvlaki joined Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos in celebrating the 21st Souvlakihut franchise, which opened on Stud Road, Dandenong, last month.

Mr Pandazopoulos cut the ribbon to the new shop and said it was a great boost for the local economy.

“It’s always encouraging to see new businesses opening in the Dandenong area, but even more so in the current economic downturn,” he said.

Franchisee Frank Karalis, who owns the business with his brother-in-law, Tash Guzowski, said he did not want to pass up the opportunity to get on board with Souvlakihut.

“I’d seen how successful the Templestowe store, owned by ex-Carlton skipper Anthony Koutoufides, had been and knew I had to get involved,” he said.

“We are really looking forward to getting started on the business.”
