THE Noble Park community turned out last weekend to support what organisers are labelling a phenomenal 2006 Community Festival.

The Noble Park Chamber of Commerce organised the festival, held last Saturday, and secretary June Carson said the day was about businesses giving back to the community.

“The community response this year has been phenomenal,” she said. “We have been having people come in saying how much they enjoyed it.”

The day was full of activity spread across Noble Park’s main activity centre, including both sides of the rail track that normally divides the township.

“It was very, very successful. One testimonial that comes to mind is from a gentleman from Dromana named Iain,” Ms Carson said. “He said he couldn’t believe the great sense of community and togetherness in Noble Park.”

Despite overcast conditions there was a long line for face painting, Ms Carson said, and popular appearances by Humphrey B. Bear. Harley Davidson and horse carriage rides were also on offer, and entertainers including the community’s own Cormac McCarthy Irish Pipe Band pleased the masses.
