Steel Park, Dandenong South, the design by Bruce Henderson Architects, won an award for the south east’s Best Industrial Design for 2006 last week.

A BUILDING developed for a Dandenong South steel company has been recognised locally for its architectural design.

Steel Park in Dandenong South, designed by Melbourne-based Bruce Henderson Architects, picked up an award for Best Industrial Design at the annual South East Development Awards for Architectural Excellence last week.

Steel Park was the only Dandenong-based project to win an award, and project head Fulvio Fantozzi said he was extremely proud of the company’s work.

Mr Fantozzi said his client, a steel manufacturer, wanted a design that conveyed its presence as a leader within the steel industry.

The judging panel awarded the title of Best Industrial Design to Bruce Henderson Architects on the evening held in Beaconsfield last week, beating several other projects from across Melbourne’s south east including Frankston and Cranbourne.

Major winners centred around the Royal Botanic Gardens project in Cranbourne, with three separate architects recognised for their contributions parts of the project.
