PAKENHAM starlet Pippa Black was pipped for a Logie at Australian television’s night of nights.

Pippa, who plays Elle Robinson on iconic Australian soapie Neighbours, was among the nominations for most popular new female talent at Sunday’s Logie Awards.

She didn’t get the award, which went to Jodi Gordon of Home and Away, but local viewers were still glued to their sets in support of Pippa.

The former Beaconhills Christian College vicecaptain said getting the part on Neighbours almost 12 months ago was the “massive” break she had been waiting for after years of auditions and knockbacks.

Being part of the glitz and glamour of the Logies was another highlight.

“It is the event of the year. It is big stuff,” she said.

“It is one glamorous and glitzy night and to be nominated and then short listed and then to be named in the top four when there was so much hot talent was just amazing.”

Pippa, whose family still lives in the area, attracted plenty of attention on the red carpet in her Europeaninspired peach gown by La Violette of Jane Hill.

Pippa said she had been researching her Logies gown since the start of the year and wanted to wear something classic and classy.

She had numerous dress fittings in the past month and attended the Logies with the Channel 10 “crowd”.

She said younger brother Tom, who also attends Beaconhills, was disappointed that he was not able to go the inviteonly affair.

Pippa still has ties to the local area and recently visited her old school in Pakenham and is now an ambassador for the Narre Warren Lighthouse Foundation.

This week marks a year since she joined the Ramsay Street gang and said the past 12 months had certainly been “her year.”
