THE STATE Government is calling for tenders for the second stage of the $2.8m Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park development.

The Premier and Williamstown MP Steve Bracks called for tenders last Friday to undertake the restoration of the Ann St footbridge, construction of trails and landscaping.

Mr Bracks described reaching the second stage of the development as a “significant achievement” following the opening of the Timeball Tower car park, the Quarry picnic area and the recent completion of the 7.6-hectare soil remediation project.

Parks Victoria has prepared a landscape plan in close consultation with Hobsons Bay City Council, the Department of Defence at Fort Gellibrand and the newly formed Friends group, the Point Gellibrand Park Association, to be implemented over a number of years.
