SUSTAINABLE House Day is on Sunday 12 September and energy-conscious homeowners are invited to participate.

“Sustainable House Day is a great opportunity for residents to see real life examples of how their neighbours are working to reduce energy bills and environmental effects through great home design and fit-outs,’’ chair of the Sustainable Environment Advisory Group Councillor Angela Altair said.

The mayor of Hobsons Bay Bill Tehan said Sustainable House Day was the perfect initiative to help residents meet the council’s carbon emission target.

“The council has committed to achieving a target of zero carbon net emissions by 2020 and to help the community reach the same target by 2030,” said Cr Tehan.

The event aims to demonstrate how easy and economical the move to greener living can be.
