POLICE are seeking witnesses after two robberies occurred in Newport last month.

Region two Embona taskforce believe two youths were on the corner of Hobson St and Home St when a man assaulted and stole one of their backpacks on 23 September at 2pm.

Police said the man then approached a witness who was walking his bike east on Hobson St and assaulted him.
