POLICE seized 1000 ecstasy pills on Thursday night after pursuing a man and woman along the Princes Highway in Laverton.

The 27-year-old Tarneit man and 22-year-old Hillside woman received a number of drug-related charges and driving related charges.

The drug bust came after Werribee Police responded to a domestic dispute between the man and woman, who were arguing in the emergency lane on the Princes Highway.

When police approached the man and women they fled in a green Mitsubishi sedan.

A pursuit followed, which reached speeds up to 130 kilometres per hour.

Police momentarily lost sight of the sedan, but found it parked in Grace St, Altona Meadows.

The man had fled, but police searched the car and found a quantity of money and drugs.

Police continued to search the surrounding area and found the man close to the scene and a black sports bag that contained about 1000 ecstasy pills.

They appeared in the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on Friday (9 January).
