WERRIBEE’S basketballers were fired up by a visit from National Basketball League’s newest franchise team - the South Dragons.

The dragons, led by playing coach Shane Heal, trained in front of a packed Werribee Sports and Fitness Centre grandstand last week.

The legendary player took the team through a two-hour training session on Monday 22 January before signing autographs and posing for photos.

Local coaches were also given coaching tips by the Dragon’s coaching staff.

The visit was part of a Back to the Burbs promotion that aims to give upcoming heroes a chance to meet the NBL heroes of today.
