A HOPPERS Crossing teenager suffered smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in her home last week.

Paramedics were called about midday to extinguish the kitchen fire.

Advanced life support paramedic Lisa Binns said the 17-year-old inhaled smoke and fumes from a fire extinguisher.

“The girl was having trouble breathing and was tight in the chest as a result. We gave her some asthma medication through a mask and some oxygen to assist her breathing.”

She was taken to Werribee Mercy Hospital in a stable condition.
