A LAVERTON woman was charged last Tuesday with a number of petrol drive-offs and theft from motor vehicles.

Senior Constable Mick Broughton said the woman, in her mid-forties, was charged at about 2pm, after police noticed a vehicle similar to one they had been searching for.

Police said the arrest came after three number plates had been stolen around the Laverton train station and Point Cook and four petrol drive-offs from around Port Melbourne and Altona Meadows.
