Top puppies ... Guide dogs will help in fund-raising efforts for blind and vision impaired Victorians on Top Dog Day.

WYNDHAM’S guide dogs will have their day on 31 July, also known as Top Dog Day.

TDD is Guide Dogs Victoria’s second annual major fund-raising event to help raise money to support blind and vision-impaired Victorians.

Guide Dogs Victoria CEO Dr Graeme White said he was greatly appreciative of everyone who supported the initiative.

“It helps create more awareness in the community about the important role Guide Dogs Victoria plays in assisting blind and vision impaired Victorian’s achieve safe and independent travel,” he said.

Guide Dogs Victoria provides a range of mobility services to people who are blind or vision impaired.

This includes guide dog mobility, children’s mobility and services for people whose vision loss resulted from an acquired brain injury.

Wyndham Vale residents can play their part by selling Top Dog Day merchandise or hosting a casual-clothes day at the local school for a gold coin donation.

There are pens, badges, dog tags and a soft toy key ring available through IGA supermarkets, Pet Goods Direct, Pets Paradise, Spotlight and Video Ezy stores from 1 July.
