MORE than 30 angry taxi drivers rushed to the defence of their colleague at the Hoppers Crossing Railway Station last Thursday after youths assaulted a cabbie with stones and wooden stakes.
Taxi driver Balvinder Kararia, 45, was unharmed as up to 12 youths destroyed his taxi.
Werribee Police, who responded to reports about 10pm, believe the youths were involved in an argument and scuffle with the taxi drivers before the attack.
Two taxi cabs had windows smashed during the incident.
Three teenage boys were arrested but released without charge, pending further investigation.
A 21-year-old taxi driver from Werribee suffered minor injuries to his left hand.
