POLICE have called for public help to identify a man they want to speak to about the murder of Nguyen Van Nguyen of St Albans in Tarneit last month.
Homicide squad detectives last week released CCTV footage and an image of the man they wish to speak to. The footage was taken in the Robinvale area the day after police believe the murder occurred.
Police say the man is of Asian appearance, about 30, 170cm tall, of thin build with short black hair and wearing a camouflaged peaked cap with a distinctive red star and crescent emblem on the front.
According to police, the man may have travelled from Melbourne to the Robinvale area within hours of the murder.
A local farmer found Mr Nguyen’s body in long grass on the side of Boundary Rd about 11am on 8 November.
Detectives believe Mr Nguyen was assaulted elsewhere and his body dumped in this location.
His vehicle was dumped outside 568 Geelong Rd, Brooklyn, between McDonalds and Millers roads.
Investigators believe the vehicle was in the Werribee/Tarneit area before being dumped in Brooklyn.
