JAMES ‘the beast’ Jackson admits he is a scary man.
The professional wrestler likes nothing better than annihilating his opponent when he steps into the ring at New Age Wrestling in Albion.
“I’m more civilised, then I was 10 years ago, but ‘the beast’ still comes out when I get in the ring,” the man mountain said.
Jackson became interested in the competitive sport in the late 1990s when World Wrestling Entertainment was at its peak. And he said despite what people think, the pain was all real.
“It’s very, very real. I’ve been injured so many times,” the confessed wild man said.
“A lot of people think it’s fake, but when you get onto the other side of the ring, anything can happen. It’s brutal.”
He said looking up at his rival after being thrown to the ground was probably the most daunting thing about wrestling, but it got the adrenaline pumping
“Basically, I like to hurt people. But only in the ring.”
Jackson’s upcoming battle is against arch nemesis George ‘the hitman’ Julio - a legend of Australian wrestling. And he is confident of victory.
“I’m going to end his career after 40 long years. It’s time he was gone.”
Jackson takes on Julio on 18 September at the Maltese Club, 27 Talmage St, Albion.
