WHAT could be more satisfying then a stack of perfectly made crepes?
Well, for some Sunshine College students, a side of technology is the perfect treat.
The group of talented Year 11 business students were commended for their iCrepe café business plan presented to Victoria University as part of the I Plan a Business Awards.
Thao Le, Linh Vu, Joseph Micallef, Jenny Luu, Linda Le and Kelly Vo demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills by designing a business plan for a teenage-friendly café. Judges said they were impressed with the thoroughness and presentation of the business plan, which included store and menu descriptions and believed it was a business that could be successfully applied within the community.
Joseph, 17, said after completing the plan, he had developed a keen interest in business and hoped to study in the field after completing Year 12.
Another Sunshine College student was praised for her business plan. Kristina Stojanovska created a plan for a café called Ilavo, a Mediterranean style lounge bar, which again impressed judges who commented on the outstanding work and effort she had put in.
The VU program provides an opportunity for secondary school students in the West to demonstrate their business planning skills and was strongly supported by schools and local councils.
