ALBION youngsters Morgan, 10, and Alexis, 8, put on their best singing voices last week in the lead up to Daffodil Day. The songbirds took to the streets to perform a rousing rendition of Walking on Sunshine to help raise vital funds for the Cancer Council. The Sorbent Sing for Daffodil Day campaign, held throughout August, raised $150,000 after 50,000 Australians uploaded their best version of the popular song.
Money raised through Daffodil Day, which averages $8 million annually, will go towards vital research, education and support services for those touched by cancer.
In the past two decades, the survival rate for many common cancers has improved by more than 30 per cent, however, one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
