A 22-YEAR-OLD Melton man received serious facial injuries after allegedly being assaulted by up to 10 males at a Sunshine Park on 6 March about 6pm.

Sunshine Police Senior Sergeant Fred Grove said the victim, his girlfriend and another woman were at the RT Pollard Gardens in Hampshire Rd at the same time as the group of men, who appeared to be drinking alcohol.

Sen Sgt Grove said a man approached the 22-year-old man and did a “frisk search” on him.

“As the bloke started to frisk him, the male resisted and was immediately struck to the head and upper body,” he said.

Sen Sgt Grove said a teenage male was later taken into custody and assisted police with their inquiries, but was released with no charges laid.

He said Footscray Embona was investigating the incident and appealed for anyone who has information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
