BRIMBANK residents will be able to grow their gardening skills in the upcoming Tomato Project.
The Delahey Community Centre is offering the free workshop on 17 November for people who want to learn to care for tomato plants.
The classes, which will be taught by Helen Rzesniowiecki from the Iramoo Sustainable Community Centre at Victoria Univerity’s St Albans campus, will provide tomato seedlings free of charge to participants.
In 2008, the Delahey and Sydenham Community Centres conducted a similar program and crowned a king and queen of tomato growing in Brimbank. The project is an initiative of the Healthy Eating in Brimbank Project, Delahey Community Centre and Sydenham Community Centre.
The 17 November class is on at Delahey Community Centre, 80 Copperfield Drive, Delahey, at 11am. Call 9307 0358 to enrol. Another workshop will be on at the Sydenham Community Centre, 7 Community Hub, Sydenham, on 26 November at midday. Contact 9390 3977 to enrol.
