The finish to the Eaglehawk Bakery Caffe for C5 and C6 class over 2150 metres at Bendigo on Tuesday had the crowd guessing as to the result, when Luminous Lombo and You Lazy Boy dead-heated in 1-58.6.
Working forward from gate four to race outside the pacemaker Rory, Luminous Lombo gained the upper hand on turning and most watching thought he had lasted from You Lazy Boy along the sprint lane off the back of the leader.
After a long deliberation, the judge couldn’t separate the pair and a dead-heat was posted, with the favourite My Gold Art a creditable third after racing wide from the bell.
You Lazy Boy is a 6-Y-0 home bred entire by Totally Ruthless from Lucy Lastic raced by Pat Conroy, trained at Daylesford by husband Bob and driven by son Glenn, while Luminous Lombo, a 5-Y-0 Northern Lights/Lombo Serene gelding is trained and driven by Toolern Vale’s John Justice for Bill Green’s Tex Services Pty Ltd.

Rockbank’s Bill Galea snared the Harness Breeders (Vic) Pace for C1 and C2 class mares over 1609 metres at Geelong on Thursday with Ball Dancer, a 4-Y-0 daughter of Presidential Ball and Millburn Robyn.
Taking a concession for young gun Rhys Nicholson, Ball Dancer from the pole was given the run of the race on the back of the pacemaker Hurricane Annie, before using the sprint lane to score in a rate of 1-58.7 over the leader, with My Pacific Rainbow third off a one/one trip.

Graeme and Gavin Lang caused a surprise (to some), when the trotter Don King defeated his rivals in the Barastoc Pacers Handicap for C0 class over 2100 metres at Geelong.
Beginning safely as the tapes released, Don King spent most of the race possied three back along the markers, before being extricated to be four wide on the final bend.
Running home at a great rate, Don King was ultra impressive in winning narrowly but well from the pacemaker Willoughby in a tricky finish, with TAB One third off a three wide double trail in the final circuit.
A six-year-old Kiwi bred gelded son of Sundon and Ashley Blossom, Don King returned a respectable mile rate of 2-03.3.

Parwan co-trainers Craig Demmler and Jodi Quinlan's Christian Cullen/Bridge Player mare Cullen’s Ace was an easy victor of the City Of Greater Geelong Pace for C3 and C4 class over 2100 metres.
Driven by Jodi, Cullens Ace from the pole lead easily and was untroubled in accounting for Rocketrod Cullen and Franco Ambassador in a 1-58.9 rate.
