Expenses rung up

TELEPHONE bills continue to be the main expense for Brimbank Councillors.

Councillor expenses from 1 April to 30 June indicated that more than half of the total expenses for the 11 councillors was on phone bills for their Blackberries.

Councillors spent a total of $2298 on their phone bills during the period and reimbursed the council $963 for personal calls.

Big spenders included Cr Margaret Giudice who racked up a $715 bill, $119 down on her bill the previous quarter, which was $834.

Mayor Troy Atanasovski had the second highest bill at $283 while Cr Sam David, Cr Maria Kiselis and Cr Heidi Seitz had the lowest bills.

Cr Atanasovski reimbursed the council $47 for his personal phone calls, while Cr Geraldine Brooks gave back $40 from her $280 bill.

Cr David gave back $4.30, Cr Giudice reimbursed council $807, Cr Kiselis $7 and Cr Seitz $50.

Cr Robert Bozinovski did not provide any reimbursement, nor did Cr Marion Martin or Cr Tran Siu.

Cr Stuart Miller reimbursed the council 61 cents for his $172 phone bill while Cr Robert Shamon reimbursed the council $5 for his personal phone calls in his $242 bill.

Total expenses for the quarter for all councillors reached almost $4500 with local travel also proving costly at $1977.
