VICTORIA University is running a free warehousing skills course to help migrants better their chances of securing full-time work.

The program includes a crash course in English, as well as information about workplace safety and hands-on skills.

During the seven-week course, participants are instructed in a life-sized simulated warehouse, where they learn picking and packing, filling invoices and other practical tasks.

The course culminates in a career-training week focusing on resume writing, job-hunting and interview skills. The next course will run from 4 May to 19 June at VU’s Werribee campus.

Participants must have a reasonable grasp of English and be over 18-years of age. Phone Irena on 9919 8239 or Luisa on 9919 7244.
