ROXBURGH College students have formed a “green team” to clean up their school this Friday.

They will join several other schools including Craigieburn South Primary School, Bethal Primary School and Sunbury Downs College in a Clean-Up Australia initiative to make schools litter-free.

Several other Hume sites will also be beautified on Sunday.

Craigieburn Wetlands and Seabrook Reserve in Broadmeadows will have clean-ups from 9 to 11am on Sunday. Anyone is welcome to help join in the effort.

Mernda residents have also been invited to help work towards a clean and green community.

People have been encouraged to gather at Woodland Waters Estate from 10.30am to noon on Sunday to clean up the area.

Volunteers should sign up with the site co-ordinator on arrival and wear sturdy shoes, old clothes, a hat and sunglasses. They should also bring gloves, a drink and be sun smart.

For more information, call David Sprott on 9401 0555.

A full list of registered sites can be found on the website www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.
