MARIBYRNONG residents wanting to scratch their arts and crafts itch are in luck this September.

The Maribyrnong Makers Market is coming to town again and offers buyers a chance to find unique, handmade crafts from a range of artists, all based in Maribyrnong.

With over 40 stallholders the market promises to have something for everyone.

Morgan Wills, the creative mind behind the market, said the market was only getting more popular since it was first held three years ago.

“It’s been really embraced by the local community,” she said.

“It’s such an arty municipality with a lot of artists who really want to showcase their work.”

Local resident and stallholder Rosalinda Clarke sells crocheted pieces including bags, hats and iPhone covers.

“(The market) is really community-based,” Ms Clarke said.

“It’s harking back to that kind of nostalgic era.”

Visitors to the market have a chance to find something truly unique and talk to the artists about their trade.

The market will be held in the grounds of the Uniting Church in Gamon St, Seddon on Saturday 11 September from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
