Syringe robberies

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three separate armed robberies involving knives and syringes in Sunshine, Altona and Yarraville.
The first incident occurred on 2 February at 2pm when a man entered a pharmacy on Ballarat Rd, Sunshine, and produced a syringe to threaten the attendant.
The man then stole about 15 boxes of medication.
The second incident occurred on 4 April at 12.15pm when a man entered a pharmacy in Harrington Square, Altona.
The man produced a knife and syringe before stealing cash and medication. The third incident occurred 7 April at 3.30pm when a man entered a newsagency on Somerville Rd, Yarraville, and produced a knife and a syringe before stealing cash from the register.
The region two Embona Taskforce is currently investigating the three incidents, which have been linked to a Caucasian man in his late 20s, around 185cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.
