MARIBYRNONG City Council CEO Kerry Thompson is all set to do her bit for bushfire relief after being offered a three-month secondment with the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority.

The council last week passed an urgent motion to release Ms Thompson from her council duties after the authority requested Ms Thompson’s expertise.

Ms Thompson will be working to help streamline joint relief efforts by the Federal, State and Local Governments.

“The Victorian regions devastated by bushfires host huge numbers of people who are essentially waiting for their lives to recommence – they need every single helping hand they can get,” Mayor Michael Clarke said.
