Close shave

Dandenong Police Leading Senior Constable Darren George and constable Sasha Shaw preferred a colourful spray to a shave.
DANDENONG residents raised more than $2000 last Saturday in the name of curing cancer.
A ‘shave off’ was held in the Dandenong Plaza’s Centre Court with police members, the city’s mayor, Peter Brown, and hairdressers combining to raise funds for cancer research.
The shave off was one of several Leukaemia Foundation Shave for a Cure Day events taking place in the city, and raised $2500.
The trade-off, as usual, was that people sacrificed their hair for the event.
But in addition to the shave, Dandenong Plaza marketing manager Julie MacDougall said hair colouring was available.
Victoria Police multicultural liaison officer Joey Herrech hosted the event, while several of his colleagues were on the receiving edge of an electric trimmer.
Hairdressers from Hairhouse Warehouse and Answers for Hair volunteered to colour and shave for three hours.
