SPRINGVALE Police will launch a new operation next week, targeting pedestrians and parking offences.

Operation Arene, which will run from 24 November to 4 December, will see both uniformed and plainclothes police out in force around the Springvale CBD, particularly focused on jaywalkers.

Springvale Sergeant Michael Ferdinand said the aim of the operation was to highlight the traffic laws.

“We want to reduce the amount of pedestrian-related collision,” he said.
