POLICE are calling on witnesses to a serious assault in Springvale over the weekend. The assault left a 31-year-old Springvale man suffering serious facial injuries at the Monash Medical Centre.

Police believe the man caught the last train home on Sunday after a night out on the town and was approached by a number of males.

It is believed that he was chased by the group down Springvale Road and was knocked unconscious outside a closed karaoke bar.
