A MAN suffered multiple injuries after his motorcycle hit a stationary truck at Jacana this evening.
Advanced life support paramedics were called to the intersection of the Western Ring Rd and Pascoe Vale Rd just after 6pm last Wednesday.
Intensive care paramedic Louise Hay said when the first crew arrived they found the man lying on the road and partially under the truck.
“The 31-year-old somehow crashed into the back of the truck and his bike was still wedged underneath the vehicle,” Ms Hay said.
“There was some visible damage to the rider’s helmet but thankfully he was able to recall the whole event and was aware of what was going on around him. ‘He had a number of injuries including broken bones through both legs and an arm. We also suspect that he had chest injuries.”
Paramedics fitted the man with a neck brace and a spineboard before lifting him into a stretcher.
The man was then giving pain relief before being taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
