THE Yea Country Market will be relaunched on Saturday with musicians, coffee and the chance for local producers to highlight their wares.

Market chairperson Sophia Demos said the market would include stalls which showcase the best in fresh local produce, arts and crafts, children’s activities, playground and a skate park.

“We will also have musicians, a coffee machine and plenty of things for the children to do,” Ms Demos said.

“Eighty per cent of the products will be produce from the local area. In a sense, it will be cultural feast that highlights our township.”

Ms Demos said the aim of the market was to help make the town viable, while giving the community a place to come and meet.

A Tools for Fools stall will also help the blokes clear out their tool sheds and stock-up, sell or swap equipment.

“It will also be a great opportunity to showcase our town for tourists,” Ms Demos said.

“So take advantage of spring, get out and about, get the word out to friends, family and neighbours to come along and assist your local community.”

Gold coin donations will also be given to different local charities each month.

The first market will be held at Yea Railway Park on Saturday and then on the first Saturday of the month from 9am to 2pm.
