A TODDLER suffered burns to his neck and upper back in Glenroy last week.
Paramedic Astrida Abele said an ambulance was called to the scene just before 6pm on Thursday.
Ms Abele said when they arrived, paramedics found the three-year-old in considerable pain.
“The boy had partial thickness burns to about 8 per cent of his body,” she said.
“Burns to that depth of the skin can be incredibly painful, and the affected area of his skin had blistered. We were told that he’d somehow tipped boiling water over himself.
Ms Abele said the boy’s parents had put the boy into a lukewarm shower to cool the burns.
“We did our best to calm the boy and his parents, before applying a burns aid dressing to the boy’s damaged skin,” Ms Abele said.
The boy was then taken to Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
