Happy days … Kilmore captain Travis Blackwell, right, was rapt with Rod McLeod, centre, snaring one of his eight wickets on Saturday, leading the Blues to a grand final berth. 44201

KILMORE successfully chased down Alexandra’s total of 181 in the Seymour District Cricket Association A Grade semi-final on the weekend, booking its place in the grand final.

The Blues were led valiantly by Rod McLeod who bagged eight wickets, before performing admirably with the bat, making 70.

Cowell said one partnership led the home side to the grand final berth.

“We were five down when we passed them, Rod McLeod made 70 not out, and he got eight (wickets) with the ball,” Cowell said.

“Travis Blackwell, ended up with 30 or 40 or so.”

Cowell said he’s looking forward to taking on challenger Avenel at Avenel this Saturday, given the hit outs the two sides have had this season.
