ELEVEN-year-old Bronson Phillips has been a steady improver at Kilmore District Little Athletics (KDLA).
The Broadford resident has a keen hand for the javelin event and continues to make strides with an improved action earning him the Star Little Athlete of the Week nod.
Bronson is also part of the under 12 boys relay team that will be heading to the Victorian Little Athletics Relay Championships after a successful run at the regionals. Bronson and his relay teammates, Cody Cullinan, Dylan Lane and Bailey Robinson, are all fierce competitors against each other on Saturday mornings, but combine well in the relay.
The under 13 mixed team of Bridgit Cooney, Elise Malcolm, Christian Maxwell and Hayden Phillip produced a Stephen Bradbury like performance with the more fancied teams disqualified, leaving them to make it through to the Vic event.
This weekend will be big for KDLA when its normal meet is moved to Friday night to make way for Sunday’s Regional Multis.
“There is a lot of excitement around the club and all hands will be on deck to make the day a great success,” KDLA president Gary O’Brien said.
