WHITTLESEA is about to be overtaken by some of the greatest Australian tennis players to ever pick up a racket.

Former world number one and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Evonne Cawley heads a list of tennis greats heading to Whittlesea for a special Back to Tennis Day to help the region’s bushfire recovery effort.

Cawley tops a stellar cast that includes Todd Woodbridge, Alicia Molik, John Fitzgerald, Wayne Arthurs, Paul McNamee, Richard Fromberg and Nicole Pratt.

“We just want to show those affected by the fires that the world hasn’t forgotten,” org-aniser Brian Beers said.

The Kooyong Foundation, Tennis Victoria and the Diamond Valley Tennis Association will hold the event at the Whittlesea Tennis Club from 12.30pm-5pm on 19 April.
