A WHITTLESEA man was arrested last week in relation to the disappearance of Marlene McDonald in December 1986.

Police from a range of units including the Belier Taskforce, Homicide Squad and Morwell Criminal Investigation Unit were involved in the arrest.

The Whittlesea man was arrested last Tuesday and faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ court the same day. He has been remanded in custody on charges of kidnapping.

A New South Wales man and a Moe man were also arrested last week and charged with kidnapping in relation to the 22-year-old case.

The Moe man was also charged with indecent assault.
