Brookers wilt to Wandin

GEMBROOK-Cockatoo seniors missed the chance of climbing a spot on the ladder when they went down to Wandin by 27 points in round nine on Saturday.
The first quarter was even with Wandin holding a one-point lead at quarter-time.
Both sides were committing basic errors by hand and foot that led to a very scrappy game.
The second quarter saw much the same, with Wandin extending its lead to go in two points up at half-time.
The third quarter proved to be the difference, with Wandin adding seven goals to the Brookers four.
The game lifted a notch in the skill department and players were starting to hit targets going forward and at three quarter-time Wandin was 22 up.
The last quarter was a scrappy affair with Wandin shutting up shop towards the end of the quarter to run out comfortable victors by 27 points.
Scores Gembrook-Cockatoo 10.4.64 lost to Wandin 13.13.91.

The Brookers went into the game against Wandin with eight players out from last week.
Two under 18s helped out in Hilder and Leversha and president Steve Goodie made a cameo appearance that saw the Brookers with 19 players.
The game was a hard solid game with the undermanned Brookers taking it up to Wandin.
Wilke played well up forward and Collett and Hamilton were solid in defence.
Michael Litterbach played well in the ruck and Kruzervic and Green provided options around the ground.
However Wandin piled on goals in the last quarter to come home comfortable winners.

The Brookers had a convincing win against Wandin and with a full team led at every break.
John Robinson won the ruck contests and fed his midfield at every opportunity and the Brookers finished off with a multitude of inside 50s.
Alex Schuddekopf finished up with four goals.
The two rovers Ashley Sawyer and Liam Henzen picked up many touches and fed the forwards at every opportunity.
Up forward Andrew Hilder created opportunities for Michael Borkowski and first gamer Chris Bray.
Craig Luscombe with Michael Webster and Shuey rotated through the centre and caused havoc throughout the game.
Luke Mawson carried on the good work from last week and won his fare share of contested footy.
