Schoolgirl hit by bus

CFA and ambulance personnel work to free the young girl from under a bus at the High Street and Manuka Road Berwick intersection.

A GIRL, 11, was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with severe leg injuries after she was hit by a bus at the intersection of High Street and Manuka Road, Berwick.

The incident happened about 8.15am on Friday, 15 June.

Police said the Beaconsfield girl was on her way to school when she was hit by the bus. They said the bus was attempting to make a right-hand turn and struck the girl as she crossed the road. The girl was trapped under the bus for nearly 20 minutes.
