Casey mayor Colin Butler congratulates winners in the 2007 Casey Community Volunteer Awards program. VOLUNTEERS in the City of Casey have been recognised with a series of awards in six categories.

They were Margot Lucas, family and community support; Brian Ludecke, sport and recreation; Max Hunter, arts and cultural activities; Joy Buck, environment/conservation; Erin Cormack and Cameron Devenny, joint winners young volunteers; Casey North Community Information and Support Service and Cranbourne Information and Support Service for running the Casey No Interest Loan Scheme, innovation joint winners.

The Summers Family of Doveton was awarded a highly commended certificate.

The awards were part of National Volunteers Week celebrations.

Casey mayor Colin Butler congratulated and thanked nominees and Casey’s volunteers.

“Hopefully, the achievements of our volunteers will inspire more people in the community who have been thinking of volunteering to give it a go,” Mr Butler said.
