COMMUNITY groups may soon have an archive to store historical documents.

Edrington Ward councillor Brian Hetherton suggested in March that the Casey Cardinia Library be asked to create an archive to store minutes and historical documents.

Casey manager of arts and leisure Robyn Bowen said in a report to the council that the Cranbourne Shire Historical Society would be taking space in the Casey Indoor Leisure Centre at Cranbourne.

She said provision of archival space could be considered in conjunction with the move.

The council agreed to discuss the idea with the historical society.
