SCORES of St Francis Xavier College students have been busily checking out the school’s latest form of entertainment.

The Berwick campus recently purchased a life-size chess set which is proving to be an extremely popular lunchtime activity for students.

Mathematics teacher Ken Doan said many students had taken positively to the school’s latest addition, engaging in social and competitive games.

Mr Doan, who runs the chess club, said the school put in a funding application after he saw how popular the larger life-size game was at a Brighton school.
