Wandering cows cause crashes

POLICE are urging farmers to check their fences after a number of cows were involved in collisions during the last month.
A number of incidents were recorded on country roads in the area, particularly between Officer and Pakenham. Police say a cow was put down as a result of a collision.
Acting Sergeant Peter Bast of Cardinia TMU said farmers needed to ensure their fences were secure to prevent cows from heading to greener grass alongside roads in the area.
