PAKENHAM Police have issued 108 motorists with defect notices during a busy two-week operation targeting unroadworthy vehicles.

Police set up a number of road checking stations and randomly intercepted cars during the Traffic Management Unit’s Operation Highlight which ended on Saturday.

Acting Sergeant Peter Bast of Cardinia TMU said although the 108 defect notices issued during the operation was a lot, only two infringement notices were issued.
