CASEY mayor Colin Butler has highly commended the Casey Idol mayoral charity concert.

He said the concert raised $1800 for charity, but beside that it was a wonderful event.

Casey’s young entertainers put on a show to remember on Saturday for the final of concert held in the Hampton Park Arthur Wren Hall.

Solo singers Naomi Horsley and Dwayne D’Cruz took out the Open and Primary divisions respectively while local band Black Ribbon wowed the crowd to receive the People’s Choice Award.

Show organisers River Gum Ward councillors Janet Halsall and Wayne Smith said they were delighted with the success.

Cr Halsall said Casey Idol was an exciting showcase of local talent and that she was confident that many participants will go on to bigger and better things.
